Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B in Snow Hill, MD to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel fleet equipment including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulics, electrical, braking, HVAC, suspension and drive systems. You’ll work under supervision, performing preventive and repair maintenance to keep routes on schedule.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
• Understand work order labor time standards.
• Experience on Classes 1-5 trucks or similar equipment.
• ASE T1-T8 certifications are a plus.
• CDL is a plus.
• 3-5 years in a technician role or recent tech school graduate.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and skills in vehicle components and systems for preventive and repair maintenance.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies and their control, hydraulic/electrical systems; air/brake systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs welding and fabrication work as needed.
• Safely provides road service when required to return equipment to operation.
• Identifies malfunction sources using electronic tools.
• Completes company training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
