Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, brakes, engines, and HVAC systems. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and provide safe road service as needed.

The role offers training on new technologies and a clear path for growth within a state-of-the-art fleet. This position requires knowledge of multiple vehicle systems, experience with Class 1-8 trucks or equivalent

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical proficiency.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 Years of technician experience or graduation from an accredited automotive college/technical school within the next 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and repair maintenance on vehicle components and systems, on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance on refuse vehicles and systems; brakes, hydraulics, electricals, and air systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance; suspension, drivetrain and steering, HVAC.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Safely provides road service to return equipment to operation.
• Identifies malfunction sources using electronic tools.
• Completes company training programs and follows safety policies.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
