Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to diagnose multi-system issues and perform on-site and road maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment. You will repair chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, and perform light engine work, HVAC, suspension, and drive train tasks.

The role requires 3–5 years of technician experience or completion of an accredited automotive program, with CDL and ASE credentials considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical proficiency.
• Basic understanding of labor time standards.
• Experience on Classes 1-5 light/medium and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years in a technician role or recent graduation from a tech program.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicle components and systems on-site and on the road.
• Repair chassis components and refuse bodies including control, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Perform light engine repair and maintenance, suspension, drivetrain and steering work.
• Service heating and air conditioning; perform welding and fabrication.
• Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and complete required training.
