Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to diagnose and repair diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, and HVAC. You will perform preventive maintenance, welding, and on-road service to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

The role requires 3–5 years of technician experience or recent automotive training, a valid license, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on heavy-duty trucks (Classes 1-8) or similar equipment.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of technician experience or recent graduation from automotive program.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and repair maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment on-site and on the road.
• Repair and maintain chassis components and refuse bodies including hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Perform light engine repair, suspension, drivetrain, steering and HVAC work.
• Conduct line welding and fabrication as needed.
• Provide road service to return equipment to operation safely and efficiently.
• Identify malfunctions using diagnostic tools and complete company training programs.
• Adhere to company safety policies and maintain quality workmanship.
