Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis, refuse bodies, control systems, HVAC, suspension, and drive train. You may perform basic tire work and support drivers across a single fleet with state-of-the-art equipment.

You will receive training on new technologies, work regular shifts, and have opportunities for professional growth within a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and diagnose complex vehicle faults.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Prior experience with maintenance on Class 1-5 light/medium and Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• ASE certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required; CDL is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs preventive and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Repair and maintain refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic, electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Work on suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Inspect and service heating and air conditioning systems.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Safely provides road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely and efficiently.
• Identifies the source of malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Completes applicable Company training programs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
