Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, and HVAC components. You will support drivers, work on a single fleet with advanced vehicles, and follow a clear career path with competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
• Knowledge of heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks.
• Experience with gasoline and diesel-powered equipment.
• ASE certifications preferred but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of technician experience or recent automotive school graduation.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems for preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies and braking systems; hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Welding and fabrication on-line maintenance.
• Safely provides road service to return equipment to operation.
• Identifies malfunction sources with electronic tools.
• Completes company training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to read work orders

Education

ASE Certifications (T1-T8)

Automotive college/technical school training (within 3 months)
