Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc in Modesto, CA is seeking an Apprentice Fleet Technician to assist with preventive maintenance inspections and repairs to improve safety and reliability of the fleet. You will learn to diagnose and repair various vehicle systems under seasoned supervision, ensuring adherence to all federal and state regulations.

The role provides hands-on training with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and reliability in a fast-paced transportation environment.

Qualifications

• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training 2-year school (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Learn to perform FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, dollies, and light-duty vehicles.
• Follow federal, state and local regulations; perform state-required inspections and frequencies.
• Learn to perform quality maintenance repairs on all fleet vehicles under guidance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Address driver vehicle inspection report write-ups timely and correctly the first time under guidance.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications (engines, transmissions, electrical, brakes, HVAC, etc.).
