Job summary

Sysco San Francisco, Inc. is hiring a Diesel Fleet Technician I to learn preventive maintenance inspections and safe, reliable repairs on fleet vehicles under the guidance of senior technicians and managers.

You will assist with inspections, diagnostics, and repairs across tractors, trailers, and related equipment, while developing skills in maintenance procedures and company systems. This entry-level role requires a valid driver's license, willingness to learn, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and components
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems
• Welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance
• Learn to perform FAI/CVI inspections on fleet vehicles
• Perform quality maintenance and repairs under guidance to maximize safety and reliability
• Address driver vehicle inspection reports promptly and correctly
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specs
• Document all work on work orders under guidance
