Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to diagnose multi-system issues and perform preventative and repair work on diesel and non-diesel equipment. Responsibilities include chassis, refuse bodies, braking systems, engine work, HVAC, suspension, and drivetrain maintenance, with on-road service when needed.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of technician experience or be graduating from an automotive college/technical program soon, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues across gasoline and diesel equipment.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Class 1-5 light/medium and heavy-duty trucks or similar equipment.
• ASE certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years in a technician role or technical school graduation within 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems for preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Repair and maintenance of chassis components and refuse bodies including hydraulic/electrical systems; air/brake systems.
• Perform light engine repair, suspension, drivetrain, and steering tasks; HVAC as applicable.
• Welding and fabrication as needed; provide road service to return equipment to operation safely.
