Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers is hiring a Diesel Engine Technician to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks in our Duluth shop. You’ll work with a team of skilled technicians, mentoring apprentices and leading projects as needed while upholding quality craftsmanship.

Qualified candidates bring 3–5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience, Cummins certification, and strong troubleshooting skills. CDL preferred; ASE certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience; 10+ years preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification required.
• Master Technician certifications in multiple areas preferred.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; CDL a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Document repairs and diagnostic findings accurately.
• Communicate with Parts and Service to keep repairs on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
