Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Duluth, GA is seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Technician to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks in our Engine Shop.

You will lead engine projects, mentor apprentices, and collaborate with Parts and Service teams to keep repairs on schedule while upholding quality craftsmanship. CDL and Cummins certification preferred, with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification required (Master techs preferred).
• ASE certifications a plus; strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings.
• Communicate with Parts and Service teams to ensure repairs stay on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards.
• Stay current on OEM technical bulletins and industry best practices.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
