Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Duluth, GA is seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Technician to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks in a team-focused Engine Shop.

Responsibilities include diagnosing engine issues, performing complete rebuilds, performing maintenance, and documenting findings. The role offers growth and mentorship within a network of Nextran dealerships.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification required.
• ASE certifications are an advantage.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn dealership software.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Document repairs and diagnostic findings clearly.
• Coordinate with Parts and Service teams to stay on schedule.
• Mentor apprentices and help lead the team when needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow procedures.
• Stay current on OEM bulletins and industry practices.
