Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Duluth, GA is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair, and rebuild medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines. You will work in a collaborative engine shop, mentoring apprentices and leading projects to ensure top-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities include engine repairs, preventative maintenance, and accurate documentation while following OEM procedures. Candidates should have 3-5+ years of diesel experience and Cummins certification; CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification is required; Master Technician certifications are a plus; ASE certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings.
• Communicate with Parts and Service teams to ensure repairs stay on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards.
• Stay current on OEM technical bulletins and industry best practices.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
