Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Atlanta South (College Park), GA is seeking a Diesel Engine Technician to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks in our Engine Shop. You will mentor apprentices, lead projects, and stay current on OEM bulletins while delivering quality craftsmanship.

A Cummins Engine Repair Certification and 3–5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience are required; CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL is a plus).
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification (Required).
• Master Technician certifications in multiple areas preferred.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings.
• Communicate with Parts and Service teams to ensure repairs stay on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards.
• Stay current on OEM technical bulletins and industry best practices.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
