Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Atlanta South (College Park), GA, is hiring a Diesel Engine Technician to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks. You will mentor apprentices and lead projects while growing your career within a skilled team.

We value diagnostic expertise, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work both independently and with a team. CDL is a plus, and ASE/Master Technician certifications are welcomed as we offer ample growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (CDL a plus).
• Master Technician certifications in multiple areas preferred.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Intermediate computer skills and ability to learn dealership software.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Document repairs and diagnostic findings clearly.
• Coordinate with Parts and Service teams to keep repairs on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Mentor apprentices and help lead the team as needed.
