Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Atlanta South (College Park), GA is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician who takes pride in diagnosing and repairing medium- and heavy-duty engines. You'll work in our Engine Shop, performing diagnostics, rebuilds, and preventative maintenance while mentoring teammates.

You must have Cummins Engine Repair Certification, 3–5+ years diesel diagnostics, a valid driver's license, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record (CDL a plus).
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification required.
• Master Technician certifications in multiple areas preferred; ASE certifications a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient with email and Microsoft Office; able to learn dealer software.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings.
• Communicate with Parts and Service teams to keep repairs on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards.
• Stay current on OEM bulletins and industry best practices.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
