Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Florence, OR is seeking an entry level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP1 track. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients on hemodialysis, under supervision, with opportunities to learn leadership and quality improvement.

You will collect patient data, adjust plans, educate patients and families, administer medications per protocol, participate in team decision making, and pursue CAP advancement requirements.

Qualifications

• RN with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure and CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis; adjust plan as needed.
• Educate patients and families on learning needs.
• Deliver safe, effective hemodialysis therapy with the care team.
• Administer medications per physician order or approved algorithms.
• Initiate emergency responses and support staff training.
• Ensure proper lab collection, processing and timely shipping.
• Document nursing assessment and care plan with the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients on transplant options and treatment modalities.
• Complete CAP requirements to advance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
