Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP1 track. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for an assigned patient group within the ESKD care team and coordinate with RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and patient care technicians to ensure safe hemodialysis delivery.

You will participate in education, leadership activities, and quality improvement, with CAP requirements to advance. Travel to training sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.
• Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Coordinate with care team and delegate tasks to RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians.
• Administer medications per protocol and document outcomes.
• Provide patient/family education and document learning needs.
• Lead and train staff as assigned.
• Ensure proper laboratory collection and processing; reschedule missed collections.
• Identify expected outcomes and update nursing plans of care with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Assist with transplant and treatment modality education for patients.
