Job summary

Fresenius Kidney Care is seeking an entry level professional registered nurse (CAP 1) for the Outpatient CAP program. The RN provides and coordinates clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients, with potential delegation to other care staff as needed.

In this role, you will participate in education, leadership functions and quality improvement activities within the ESKD care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis and adjusts treatment plan as needed.
• Assesses and documents patient/family education needs and provides initial and ongoing education.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with the health care team.
• Administers medications as prescribed or by approved algorithms and documents effectiveness.
• Directs and participates in staff training and orientation; supports quality improvement activities.
• Ensures correct laboratory collection and processing, reschedules missed collections, and communicates with the care team.
