Job summary

MaineHealth’s Pen Bay Hospital in Rockport, ME seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join a close-knit team. You will perform ultrasound procedures under a Radiologist, delivering high-quality patient care in a collaborative setting with a flexible schedule and a light workload of 10–12 scans per day.

Required ARDMS certification (or full registration in at least one specialty) and current BLS, with six months of ultrasound experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Sonography or equivalent training.
• ARDMS certification or full registration in at least one specialty area is expected.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a Radiologist, perform ultrasound procedures for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.

Summary

Join a close-knit team of professionals in beautiful Rockport, Maine! This role offers a flexible schedule and a manageable daily workload of 10-12 scans per day, allowing you to focus on high-quality patient care in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer role performs ultrasound procedures for use in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate of an approved School of Sonography or equivalent combination of training and experience to be eligible for registration as a Sonographer through American Registry of Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
2. License/Certifications: Current American Registry of Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Certification or full registration in at least one specialty area is expected according to departmental/local health system requirements. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
3. Experience: Six months of Diagnostic Ultrasound experience preferred.

The base range is an estimate and does not reflect the full value of our total compensation package.

The pay range for this position is $37.09 to $50.17 per hour.

Compensation for part‑time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full‑time equivalent (FTE).
