Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Part-Time Registered Mammography Technologist to perform breast imaging and DEXA procedures in a high-quality radiology department. You will support the radiology team by adhering to ARRT/ACR/MQSA guidelines, and you'll perform screening, diagnostic, and invasive breast imaging as directed by supervising physicians.

The role requires ARRT Mammography certification (preferred or within six months), BLS, State licensure if applicable, and EPIC/PACS

Qualifications

• Certification and Registration in Mammography, ARRT (preferred upon hire, or must obtain within six months of hire)
• State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists the radiologist in invasive breast procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and consent is obtained by performing physician.
• Correlates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed provider.
• Conveys patient's clinical history to licensed provider prior to examination.
• Selects and operates breast imaging equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results.
• Selects appropriate radiographic technique exposure factors to produce quality diagnostic images.
• Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
• Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of the mammographic procedures.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
• Participates in the department's quality assessments and improvement plans.
