Job summary

Bon Secours in Emporia, Virginia is looking for a Mammography Technologist to produce high-quality breast imaging procedures. You will be responsible for performing screening and diagnostic scans while upholding the utmost standards and protocols of care.

The ideal candidate should be certified with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited institute. This role offers opportunities for professional development along with a supportive and compassionate workplace.

Qualifications

• Certification and Registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology (required).
• Advanced modality registration in Mammography, ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within 1 year).
• State licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed).
• BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH).
• 1 year experience as a registered mammography technologist (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists the radiologist in invasive breast procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and consent is obtained.
• Correlates patient’s clinical history with procedure.
• Selects and operates breast imaging equipment.
• Applies principles of radiation protection.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
