Job summary

Shelburne Museum is seeking a Development Operations Manager to optimize fundraising operations, data integrity, and reporting. You will oversee donor data, gift processing, dashboards, and budgeting while collaborating with leadership to grow donor engagement.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with CRM systems, and the ability to manage events and vendor relationships in a mission-driven nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of operations or development management experience.
  • 2–3 years within a Development team.
  • Museum, cultural institution, or nonprofit sector experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with donor management systems (Raiser’s Edge/NXT) and related data tools.
  • Strong budgeting, financial administration, and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage donor database (Raiser’s Edge/NXT) as primary system administrator ensuring data integrity.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and analysis to support fundraising strategy and revenue growth.
  • Oversee gift entry and acknowledgement processes across revenue streams.
  • Collaborate on operational planning and implement departmental policies to improve efficiency.
  • Manage Development department budget and coordinate with Finance on reconciliations and forecasts.
  • Plan and execute Development events, including invitations and RSVP tracking.
  • Foster philanthropy through cross-department engagement and donor relations.
  • Provide onboarding and ongoing training on CRM systems and fundraising processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships for development platforms (Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge NXT, TAM, Omatic, MyEmma).
  • Maintain calendar, meetings, mail processing, invoices, and related admin needs.
  • Provide regular reporting on fundraising performance and campaign progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Museum priorities.
