Job description

Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking a Development and Volunteer Services Assistant for part-time employment.

The Development and Volunteer Services Assistant performs a variety of administrative duties to support both the Development office and the Volunteer Services office. The Development and Volunteer Services Assistant accurately enters and manages donor and volunteer records in databases; processes and acknowledges contributions; tracks and analyzes data; prepares reports; assists with large mailings; assists to coordinate and staff large campus events; and performs related work to support the departments’ objectives.

The successful applicant will be able to work independently, efficiently, and accurately with electronic databases and other computer applications.

Work Schedule
  • Part-time: day shift; typically up to 20 hours per week; on-site
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required

Additional Requirements for This Position
  • at least 2 years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant or Office Assistant
  • volunteer or professional experience in a Development or fundraising office, and experience with Donor Perfect or another donor database preferred
  • strong computer skills; the ability to work accurately and efficiently with a computerized database, use online resources, and work in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • the demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and organize work; work with accuracy; and manage several assignments to ensure timely completion
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • effective phone skills and interpersonal skills
  • the ability to represent the department in a professional manner, and interact in a friendly and helpful manner with donors, prospective donors, Board members, Residents and their family members, volunteers, and colleagues
  • the ability and willingness to handle confidential, sensitive, and/or personal information in an appropriate and professional manner
