Job summary

Brethren Care Village is seeking a Resident Care Assistant for our Assisted Living community. The role offers both full-time and part-time options with day, evening, and night shifts. Pay ranges from $14 to $15.80 per hour based on experience, with shift differentials of +$0.75 evenings and +$0.50 nights, +$1 weekends.

The position emphasizes ADL support, resident safety, and participation in activities. Onsite presence is required, and a HS diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including dressing, bathing, mobility, dining, and toileting.
• Delivers laundry services; personal laundry possible; handles laundry chemicals.
• Monitors health maintenance and safety; reports changes; conducts room checks and rounds.
• Encourages participation in activities; assists with scheduled programs.
• Responds to emergencies; attends inservices and mandatory training.
• Other duties as assigned.

PL U S shift differentials: +$.75/hr evenings, +$.50/hr nights, +$1/hr weekends

What You'll Do as a Resident Care Assistant:

• Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADL's):
  • Dressing/undressing: ensures that clothes are clean, appropriate in season, and presentable.
  • Bathing: provides assistance with personal hygiene (i.e. shaving, dental hygiene, nail care, hair care, etc.).
  • Mobility: uses various devices that enable resident to ambulate independently (i.e. cane, walker, wheelchair, crutch, etc.).
  • Dining: meal time reminders, sets up and cleans tables as needed, transports food from buffet to table, waits tables as needed, room service as needed.
  • Toileting: assists in transfer and dressing, assists in applying incontinence devices.
• Laundry services: delivers and picks up bed/bath linen; personal laundry possible. Will come in contact with a variety of laundry chemicals
• Health maintenance/monitoring: observes and reports physical/mental changes to Manager or designated nursing staff; conducts room checks and resident rounds; monitors for safety hazards; reports resident related incidents/accidents.
• Activity Program: encourages and reminds resident of scheduled programs. Assists with activities as needed.
• Emergency Preparedness: responds to and acts appropriately in emergency/disaster situations or drills. Attends mandatory inservices as directed plus enough additional inservices to meet requirements for CNA.
• Other duties as assigned.
