Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or an equivalent degree.
• Master's degree or an equivalent advanced degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with needs, requests, and complaints from detained noncitizens regarding non-officer or immigration case issues.
• Assist with parent/child communication and/or child welfare involvement for detainees.
• Coordinate disability accommodations and follow-up with detention facilities upon request by ERO HQ.
• Help ensure compliance with agency policies and detention standards; communicate with detained noncitizens.
• Provide language interpretation for facility and ERO staff working with detainees.
• Refer noncitizens to appropriate staff for care and follow-up (medical, mental health, chaplain, etc.).
• Support specialized housing units and programs for vulnerable populations, as needed.
• Provide general safety and security support within the detention facility.
