Job summary

Lukos seeks a Custody and Removal Coordinator to support ICE detention operations at Pearsall, TX. The role focuses on addressing detainee needs, coordinating access to care, and ensuring compliance with detention policies.

The CRC also assists with secure release planning and resource coordination for vulnerable individuals. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology, fluency in English and Spanish, and experience in multidisciplinary, multi-cultural settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social work, Psychology, or an equivalent degree.
• Master’s degree or an equivalent advanced degree preferred but not required.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Assist with needs, requests from detained noncitizen population regarding non-officer or immigration case issues.
• Assist ERO officers with parent/child communication and/or child welfare involvement.
• Facilitate disability accommodations coordination with detention facilities.
• Assist ERO and detention staff to ensure policy and detention standards compliance and communicate with detained noncitizens.
• Provide language interpretation for facility and staff.
• Support noncitizens with specialized needs and conduct wellness checks as requested.
• Meet newly detained noncitizens during intake to address questions and orient to CRC services.
• Support housing units and programs for vulnerable populations (transgender housing, behavioral/mental health unit, family centers, reunification).
• Provide general support to maintain safety and security of the detention facility.
• Research referrals and resources for departure plans and release planning for residents with vulnerabilities.
