Job summary

The GEO Group, a leader in evidenced-based rehabilitation, is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee security/control activities and staff within an assigned area. The role emphasizes coordination of facility operations, inmate/detainee supervision, and accurate recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Age 19 or older is required.
• Experience: at least 1 year as a detention officer and 2 years in field supervision; college coursework/advanced training may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement custody, security and/or treatment policies and procedures.
• Respond to major unusual occurrences and provide prompt assistance to detainees/inmates.
• Lead and supervise staff, including hiring, training, evaluation and discipline as needed.
• Direct work assignments, review post orders and ensure emergency procedures are trained and followed.
• Maintain records, daily logs, and reports; ensure facility goals and compliance with rules.
