The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Shift Commander to manage all security operations on a shift, supervise staff, and ensure safety and inmate supervision at our facilities.

This role requires directing custodial teams, enforcing facility procedures, and coordinating with the Chief of Security on policy development and incident response. Ideal candidates bring several years of corrections experience, supervisory capability, and a strong understanding of related laws and orders.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate or equivalent; related college courses desirable.

Responsibilities

• Directs security activities and supervises custodial staff.
• Responsible to Chief of Security; directs shift operations.
• Develops and implements policies for custody, security and treatment of inmates.
• Conducts inspections to ensure compliance with safety, security and facility policies.
• Reviews disciplinary matters involving staff and inmates.
• Ensures proper post orders, emergency procedures and staff training.
