We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Hackensack, New Jersey (US-NJ), United States (US).

The Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for performing various managed client services for a strategic customer. These services include IMAC, Break Fix, Desk Side Support, etc. This role combines strong technical skills with an emphasis on delivering a high level of customer service.

This position will primarily work in Hackensack but must be flexible to work at other locations as needed. It requires rotating on-call/holiday and occasional weekend support. The role involves working onsite daily at our client's facility and requires the employee to get a flu vaccination on or before the start date, as required by law.

Job Responsibilities Include:
  1. Performing configuration and repair of desktop/notebook computers and peripherals, including installation of IP phone handsets and troubleshooting technical issues.
  2. Providing customer service onsite regarding computing functionality, diagnostics, and assistance via in person, phone, email, and video conferences.
  3. Advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations to optimize product performance.
  4. Diagnosing and resolving product performance issues using advanced tools and technical knowledge, including issues caused by firewall, proxy, or anti-virus software.
  5. Performing hardware and software break/fix repairs on desktops, notebooks, printers, and peripherals.
  6. Managing IMAC tasks including hardware, software, and consumables installation and maintenance.
  7. Utilizing the customer ticketing system for workload management.
  8. Physically able to lift and move hardware.
Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of desktop support experience.
  • Hands-on experience with workstation hardware, assembly, troubleshooting, and component replacement.
  • Experience with Windows OS, MS Office, antivirus programs, and browsers.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office, Google Workspace, ChromeOS, iOS, Citrix client.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with workgroup and domain environments.
  • Experience with Windows 10, ChromeOS, cloud deployments, Active Directory, imaging, and software deployment tools.
  • Ability to work with vendors and support towers for troubleshooting.
  • Support for various hardware including thin clients, mobility devices, and peripherals.
