Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a tech support staff to provide routine support for personal computing hardware, software, and connected devices in a campus environment.

You will assist users, perform installation, configuration, and basic maintenance, maintain documentation, and help ensure daily technology operations run smoothly. The role requires an associate or bachelor’s degree in IT/CS and related experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in IT or CS with at least two years' experience in hardware/software installation or desktop support.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS with no prior experience.
• Four years of equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist users with personal computing hardware, software, and connected devices, addressing routine technical issues.
• Perform installation, setup, configuration, and basic maintenance of computers, software, and auxiliary equipment.
• Support daily technology operations, including software updates, website maintenance, and audiovisual equipment as needed.
• Maintain documentation of procedures, systems, and equipment, and track inventory to support operational needs.
• Facilitate communication with IT resources and ensure technology is functional to support departmental or academic activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Associate degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field with at least two (2) years of experience in hardware/software installation or desktop support

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field with no prior experience

Four (4) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience
