Job summary

TEKsystems in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a permanent, hands-on DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN to support end-users across the organization. The role sits on the Service Desk but focuses on desktop support, device deployment, troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Occasional inbound calls will occur, and the technician will diagnose issues, build and deploy PCs, and provide hardware and connectivity support. You'll work onsite in a fast-paced Production/Enterprise setting, coordinating with

Qualifications

• > Experience in desktop support, help desk, or service desk environments.
• • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• • Experience building and deploying PCs and workstations.
• • Hardware support and break/fix experience.
• • Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft technologies.
• • Knowledge of connectivity troubleshooting, including network and wireless issues.
• • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• > Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, hardware, and peripheral issues.
• • Build, configure, deploy, and support Windows-based PCs and workstations.
• • Provide break/fix support for end‑user computing devices.
• • Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, including network and wireless access problems.
• • Support printers, monitors, docking stations, and other endpoint technologies.
• • Respond to Service Desk tickets and provide exceptional customer support.
• • Escalate complex issues when required while maintaining ownership of incidents.
• • Assist with workstation moves, installations, and equipment upgrades.
• • Document issues, resolutions, and support activities within ticketing systems.
• • Partner with Infrastructure, Network, and Security teams as needed.
