Job summary

Slipstream IT, LLC is seeking an experienced Deskside Engineer to provide onsite IT support in South San Francisco. You will resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues, while delivering user-focused service in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3+ years in deskside or desktop IT support, strong Windows knowledge, and experience with Active Directory. Onsite work is required with some collaboration across the IT team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of deskside/IT support experience.
• Strong Windows operating systems knowledge.
• Experience supporting iOS devices.
• Hands-on troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Experience with Active Directory and user account management.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and basic networking concepts.
• Familiarity with IT ticketing systems; Freshservice is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid documentation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on deskside support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot Windows and iOS devices, network connectivity, and hardware/software issues.
• Manage user accounts and access through Active Directory.
• Troubleshoot basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Utilize remote support tools and Freshservice to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and recurring issues.
• Collaborate with IT peers while independently handling assigned tickets.
• Identify opportunities to improve end-user technology experience.
