Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Project Design Manager to lead a design team, coordinate space planning, and guide projects from concept through construction. The role focuses on implementing workplace strategy, standards, and supporting design associates for assigned accounts.

The position emphasizes team leadership, client communication, and adherence to health, safety, and code requirements while delivering high-quality design solutions across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a CIDA or NAAB accredited institution in Architecture or Interior Design.
• 4+ years of professional design experience.
• 4+ years of Revit experience in a professional setting.
• Demonstrates proficiency in architectural drawings, concepts & design.
• Excellent time management, communication, collaboration, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to lead a team and delegate work to enable independence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of design professionals from initial sketch through start of construction.
• Develop and manage team project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Support Project Designers in quality review of design deliverables.
• Ensure new processes and design standards are communicated and implemented.
• Review preliminary space plans to meet health, safety, and code requirements.
• Oversee furniture, fixtures, equipment, and millwork specs and layouts.
• Provide ongoing training to the team on space planning, program management, and FF&E services.
• Develop client workplace standards and pursue continued improvements.
• Apply knowledge of space planning, interior materials, lighting, acoustics, and human factors.
• Work independently or with minor oversight on conceptual through construction documentation.
• Coordinate third-party relationships with architects, engineers, etc.
• Provide extensive FF&E vendor knowledge to the team.
