Job summary

A privately held New Jersey manufacturer of water and wastewater process equipment is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. The role centers on SolidWorks design and fabrication drawings for in-house production, with close collaboration to the shop floor.

You’ll help conceive how new equipment is built and ensure parts fit first time through iterative review with fabricators. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3–4 years of SolidWorks experience; conveyors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–4 years mechanical design experience; standout candidates with less considered.
• Proficient in SolidWorks.
• Local to northern New Jersey; able to work onsite in Morris County; relocation not offered.
• Experience designing conveyors or similar fabricated equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Figure out how to build customer-required equipment, including new designs.
• Carry conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit the fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions with fabricators.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with the required level of detail.
• Support the project engineer with design work for each order.
• Ensure details are correct before release so equipment is built right the first time.
