Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an intern to support data analysis, reporting, and process improvement within the Gas & Electric Design Contracting team. Based in Minneapolis, the internship offers exposure to design, contracting, governance, and business analytics while collaborating with leaders and subject matter experts.

You will analyze metrics, develop dashboards, and support continuous improvement initiatives, gaining hands-on experience with real-world projects that align with business goals.

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in ABET-accredited program pursuing a degree in data analytics or related field.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred.
• Experience with data visualization and reporting is desirable.
• Interest in energy or utility operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational and project data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI and other reporting tools.
• Assist with data validation, quality reviews, and documentation across design and project delivery activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Project Management, Engineering, Operations, and Business Support.
