Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering a paid internship within the Customer Energy and Transportation Solutions (CETS) organization. The role supports the Product Planning and Strategy team in Minneapolis, MN or Denver, CO, focusing on DSM program evaluation, cost‑effectiveness analyses, and regulatory reporting.

You will collaborate with technical consultants, develop dashboards, and contribute to cost‑benefit workstreams, gaining hands‑on experience in energy efficiency investments and regulatory

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree focused on Statistics, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.
• 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher; completed 2 years of undergraduate coursework; experience or proficiency with data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Support cost-benefit and financial analysis of demand‑side management programs for NSP‑M.
• Assist in preparing analytical support and documentation for regulatory filings, including South Dakota DSM filings.
• Maintain and enhance cost‑effectiveness models, tools, and business processes.
• Analyze program performance and incentive data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Develop dashboards and reporting solutions that improve visibility into program and portfolio performance.
• Identify and recommend process improvements that enhance analytical efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Present findings, insights, and recommendations to technical consultants and business leadership.
