Job summary

Xcel Energy’s Customer Energy and Transportation Solutions internship offers hands-on experience in program planning and financial analysis. You’ll work with technical consultants to evaluate DSM cost-effectiveness and prepare regulatory documentation for NSP‑M and PSCo, while collaborating across cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decisions.

The role emphasizes developing dashboards, improving reporting processes, and presenting findings to leadership.

Qualifications

Current student, Junior or higher enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in statistics, technology, engineering or mathematics.
Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and commute in-person per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

Support cost-benefit and financial analysis of demand-side management programs for NSP‑M.
Assist in preparing analytical support and documentation for regulatory filings, including South Dakota DSM filings.
Maintain and enhance cost‑effectiveness models, tools, and business processes.
Analyze program performance and incentive data to identify trends and opportunities.
Develop dashboards and reporting solutions that improve visibility into program and portfolio performance.
