Job summary

Xcel Energy offers a paid internship with a focus on analytical projects supporting demand-side management programs. Work will include cost-benefit analyses, regulatory filings support, and development of dashboards to track program performance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and gain exposure to utility energy efficiency investment evaluation and regulatory compliance. The role is based in Minneapolis, MN or Denver, CO with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student pursuing a degree in statistics, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours per week) and commute to the designated work location.
• Hybrid work policy allows in-person and hybrid arrangements as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support cost-benefit and financial analysis of DSM programs for NSP‑M.
• Assist in preparing analytical support for regulatory filings including South Dakota DSM filings.
• Maintain and enhance cost‑effectiveness models, tools, and processes.
• Analyze program performance and incentive data to identify trends.
• Develop dashboards and reporting solutions for program and portfolio performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance analytical efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Present findings and recommendations to technical consultants and business leadership.
