Job summary

Xcel Energy Inc. seeks interns to support the Equipment & System Analytics team within the Energy Supply organization. You will learn how data analytics informs maintenance, reliability, and fleet decisions for power generation across the company.

The internship offers opportunities to collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines on field work, software design, and data projects tied to the energy transition.

Qualifications

• Current student, Sophomore or higher (as of Fall 2027).
• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week) at the designated hybrid work location.

Responsibilities

• Support instrumentation design and installation to monitor critical equipment failure modes with plant personnel.
• Enhance software applications used for Asset Performance Management with low-code tools.
• Apply AI models to consolidate and interpret large data sets to improve efficiency and insights.
