Job summary

Xcel Energy in Minneapolis is offering a Business Transformation Intern position within the CIS Modernization program. You will work with product owners and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into actionable deliverables and gain exposure to large-scale utility transformation.

You must be a current student in a related field, able to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year, with strong communication and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Business, Energy, Sustainability, Technology, Organization Management
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commute to the designated work location in person, per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Support development and refinement of detailed business process designs and documentation as the program moves into design and build phases
• Analyze and organize requirements, decisions, and dependencies across towers, including tracking gaps across cross-system integrations
• Assist in creation of training and change management materials to support future system adoption (job aids, process guides, presentations)
• Coordinate inputs from product owners, SMEs, and tower leads to ensure alignment across customer, billing, and reporting workstreams
• Support program reporting and organization needs, including summaries, tracking action items, and maintaining documentation repositories
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies or risks in current processes and proposing structured solutions
