Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering an internship with the Equipment and System Analytics team to gain hands-on experience in data analytics for power generation equipment. You will collaborate with engineers across disciplines on real projects, including instrumentation updates, software tooling, and AI-driven data insights.

The role supports growth in energy systems analytics and exposes you to a hybrid work environment with in-person assignments at the designated work location in Colorado.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled as a sophomore or higher in an ABET-accredited program.
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.
Able to work full-time during summer (up to 40 hours/week) and part-time during school year (up to 20 hours/week).

Responsibilities

Assist in instrumentation design and installation for monitoring equipment.
Support and enhance Asset Performance Management software using low-code tools.
Apply AI models to consolidate and interpret large data sets to improve operations.
