Job summary

Golden State Dermatology in San Mateo, CA is seeking a full-time clinical support role. You will prepare exam rooms, review patient histories, and assist during dermatology procedures. The position requires meticulous documentation in EMA and EMA, handling scheduling, and front-d desk support.

The role includes autoclave maintenance, medication checks, and processing prescription refills. Training in EMR systems is a plus; travel between San Mateo and Los Gatos is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare or dermatology setting preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance carriers (Medicare, commercial, HMO).
• Experience using EMR software such as EClinicalWorks or EMA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Review patient history, visit reason, medications, and procedures; document in EMA.
• Ensure MIPS information is complete in patient records.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Assist dermatology providers during procedures (excision, Mohs, cosmetic).
• Support front desk: answer phones, schedule patients, assist reception when needed.
• Clean and perform autoclave spore testing; keep maintenance records.
• Check medication expiration dates; maintain biopsy, slides, and pathology records.
• Process prescription refills per procedures; obtain authorizations as needed.
• Manage pathology and culture logs.
