Job summary

Golden State Dermatology seeks a full-time Medical Assistant in Turlock, CA to support dermatology providers with exams, surgeries, and cosmetic procedures. You will prepare rooms, manage inventory, review patient histories, and assist with scheduling and documentation in EMA and other EMR systems.

Ideal candidates bring dermatology exposure, strong patient service skills, and familiarity with insurance processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics is preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance processes (Medicare, commercial, HMO).
• Comfort using EMR systems such as EMA or EClinicalWorks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms with instruments and supplies.
• Keep treatment rooms clean and stocked.
• Review patient history and notes in EMA; document accordingly.
• Ensure MIPS information is complete in medical records.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Assist providers during surgical and cosmetic procedures.
• Support front desk and handle calls and scheduling.
• Perform autoclave spore testing and maintenance logs.
• Check medication expiration dates and manage biopsy records.
• Process prescription refills per procedures and obtain authorizations.
• Manage pathology and culture log.
• Multitask to finish duties; duties may be adjusted by Practice Manager.
• Provide exceptional service, make patients feel welcome.
