Job summary

Golden State Dermatology is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support providers and guide patients through their treatment in a fast-paced dermatology practice.

You will prepare exam rooms and supplies, review patient history and visit reasons, assist during procedures such as excisions and Mohs surgeries, help with scheduling and front desk tasks, and ensure accurate entries in EMA/EHR records for quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience in dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics is helpful.
• Knowledge of insurance carriers (Medicare, commercial, HMO) is a plus.
• Familiar with EMA or other EMR software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Review patient history, visit reason, medications, and patient understanding of procedures; document in EMA.
• Assist dermatology providers during surgical procedures (excisions, Mohs) and cosmetic dermatology tasks.
• Support front desk with phones, scheduling, and reception assistance.
• Process prescription refills and ensure proper authorization as needed.
• Maintain pathology/culture log and accurate records in patient charts.
