Job summary

Golden State Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant in Sacramento, CA to partner with providers and guide patients through treatment. Responsibilities include preparing rooms, reviewing histories, maintaining EMA records, and assisting with scheduling and procedures.

Ideal candidates have dermatology or healthcare experience, strong customer service, and familiarity with EMR systems like EMA/EClinicalWorks. Strong multitasking and patient-focused care are essential.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills or a patient-centered mindset.
• Experience in Dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics.
• Knowledge of insurance carriers (Medicare, commercial, HMO).
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as EMA/EClinicalWorks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with instruments and supplies.
• Review patient history, visit reason, medications, and notes in EMA.
• Ensure MIPS information is accurately completed in the medical record.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Assist providers during surgical procedures (excisions, Mohs, cosmetic procedures).
• Support front desk with phones, scheduling, and reception help.
• Clean and perform spore testing on the autoclave and maintain records.
• Check medication expiration dates and manage pathology records.
• Process prescription refills and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Manage pathology and culture log.
• Handle multitasking to complete responsibilities; other duties as assigned.
