Job summary

Golden State Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and guide patients through treatment. You will prepare exam rooms, review patient histories, assist with surgical and cosmetic procedures, and help with scheduling and front-desk tasks.

Experience in dermatology or healthcare is helpful, and familiarity with EMR systems like EClinicalWorks EMA is preferred. The role requires strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced clinic, with a schedule of 3 days per week

Qualifications

• Customer service or patient-centered mindset required.
• Dermatology, healthcare or aesthetics experience helpful.
• Knowledge of insurance carriers (Medicare, commercial, HMO) preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as EClinicalWorks/EMA desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Review patient history, visit reason, medications and notes in EMA.
• Assist dermatology providers during procedures (e.g., excisions, Mohs, cosmetic).
• Provide front-desk support: scheduling, phones, and coordination.
• Maintain autoclave sterile processing and logs; check medication expirations.
• Process prescription refills and obtain authorization when needed.
• Maintain pathology/culture logs and document results in charts.
• Multitask to ensure timely completion of duties.
