Job summary
Golden State Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to partner with providers and guide patients through treatments across our California clinics. You will prepare exam rooms, review patient histories, and assist during dermatology procedures while supporting back-office and front-desk duties.
The role involves travel between East Bay Clinics, multitasking, and ensuring patients feel welcome and well cared for.
Qualifications
- Customer service mindset or patient-centered approach.
- Experience in dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics.
- Knowledge of insurance carriers (Medicare, commercial, HMO).
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as EMA or EClinicalWorks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with instruments and supplies.
- Review patient history, visit reason, medications, and notes in EMA.
- Assist with scheduling patient tests and treatments.
- Assist dermatology providers during surgical procedures and cosmetic dermatology procedures.
- Support front desk by answering phones, scheduling patients, and assisting reception.
- Maintain autoclave sterility and logs, and check medication expiration dates.
- Process prescription refills and ensure authorization when needed.
- Manage pathology and culture logs and record results in patient charts.
