Job summary

Floor & Decor is seeking a dedicated trainer for Product Sales Specialists to ensure exceptional customer service and deep product knowledge across the department. The role involves developing staff, certifying product specialists and driving the company philosophy of retail excellence.

The position emphasizes safety training, merchandising, and accurate pricing, while supporting customers with product questions and purchases in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Act in a manner consistent with the company's core values.
• Demonstrate understanding of safe lifting practices SOPs.
• Teach the basic P's of retail: People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing.
• Provide direction to product sales specialists to ensure attentive customer service.
• Complete all product specialist certification courses.
• Understand merchandise and installation.
• Ensure merchandising, pricing and organization of the department.
• Communicate SOP direction and changes to associates.
• Complete forklift proficiency testing and certification.
• Communicate inventory needs to management.
• Direct and assist in processing merchandise to showroom floor.
• Validate product placement and pricing within the department.
• Greet customers in a helpful and courteous manner.
• Assist customers with product questions and selections.
• Process customers at checkout using POS system.
• Process refunds and exchanges per guidelines.
• Present 'how-to' classes to customers.
• Follow cash, check and charge card procedures.
• Answer telephone per guidelines.
• Stock and tag merchandise displays.
• Create price tags and merchandise signs.
