Job summary

Great Expressions Dental Centers is seeking a Patient Coordinator to be the first point of contact for patients visiting or calling our Miami-area dental offices. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, and manage patient records while handling general administrative tasks to support a smooth practice operation.

This role requires excellent customer service, strong communication, and attention to privacy and accuracy in handling insurance information, payments, and patient data.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a receptionist or in customer service, preferably in healthcare.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in dental practice management software and MS Office.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and insurance processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly as they arrive and create a welcoming reception area.
• Schedule appointments considering patient preferences and staff availability.
• Confirm and remind patients about upcoming appointments via phone or other channels.
• Coordinate with dental staff to manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
• Maintain and update patient information and health history in the records system.
• Ensure patient records are kept confidential and compliant with privacy regulations.
• Verify and update patient insurance information and collect co-pays when applicable.
• Process insurance claims and liaise with providers as needed.
• Respond to patient inquiries about services, policies, and availability.
• Provide pre-appointment instructions and assist with forms and paperwork.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and support patient flow.
